Recently, i finished the book Holes by Andrew Davis, this book was a very interesting book and has inspired me a lot. I learned a lot of lessons from this book and can relate to it.
One thing i learned from this book is, crime never pays . I can say this because even though Stanley didn't rob the sneakers he was punished, but in the prison he met many people who were there because of all the wrong doings they had done. Even Zero, ( kid who caused Stanley to come to prison) was there. Reading this book i realized that crime would never get you any were, and can cause many serious consequences that make you wish you never committed it.
I can relate to this book because, when i was reading this book i saw that Stanley Yelnats, was punished for a crime that he didn't commit and was sent off to prison. Often times at home, when my brother does something i get blamed for it and get punished, but obviously not so toughly. I also can relate to this book because of guilt, sometimes when i do something, someone else gets punished for it, and i feel bad. In this book at the end when Zero couldn't hold it he finally confessed to doing the crime Stanley was punished for.
Another thing, i learned is hard work pays off. What i mean by this is even though Stanley didn't commit a crime he learned a lot from this Prison, i think this because he got too see the outside world. He kind of learned a lesson, because he saw how everyone who committed crimes, were punished for what they did. So in a way he learned not to do stuff that would get him into trouble like that.
In conclusion, i learned many things from this book. i realized that crime never pays, and that hard work always pays off, i also related to the book in some ways. I really like this book and hope to read it again soon.
